28 Sep 2004
With effect from 4 Oct 2004, the counter and helpline services at the IRAS Taxpayer Services Centre will close at 1.00 pm on Saturdays. Currently, these services are opened Mondays to Saturdays, from 8.00am to 5.00pm.
The change in operating hours should have little impact on the public as very few taxpayers visit us on Saturday afternoons. The change is in line with our overall efforts to be more cost effective.
As a pro-family employer and to help our officers strike a healthier work-life balance, IRAS will also operate on a 5-day work-week scheme from 4 Oct 2004, but counter and helpline services will continue to be opened on Saturday mornings.
Save time by making an Appointment
IRAS has constantly sought to improve service to taxpayers. Taxpayers can avoid the hassle of queuing by making an appointment to see a tax officer. Taxpayers can simply call our helplines at least one day in advance to book a time slot, and be served at the appointed time.
