1. Notify IRAS

For property owners paying the owner occupier’s tax rates, you need to notify IRAS within 15 days if you cease to occupy your property.

To notify IRAS, you can log in to myTax Portal  with your SingPass  > e-Services for Property Tax > Notify lettings/ rental changes/ changes to the property.

The penalty for non-compliance of the above obligation is a fine of up to $5,000 and an interest on the tax at such rate as may be prescribed (if any).

2. Claim Vacancy Refund

If your property is vacant and you are trying to rent it out, you may apply for vacancy refund.
