Public Consultation

Formed in Sep 1999, the Taxpayer Feedback Panel (TFP) serves as a structured and regular communication channel for taxpayers’ feedback on tax policies, IRAS’ processes, service and initiatives. The Panel comprises 20 members who are representatives of the local business associations and individuals from various industries. The Panel meets at least 3 times a year.

The TFP-Mandarin Dialogue Session was formed in 2008. The TFP-Mandarin Dialogue Group comprises 15 members who represent the local Small and Medium Enterprises sector, business/trade associations and individuals from various industries. The dialogue session is held quarterly each year.

Through the TFP and the Mandarin Dialogue Group, IRAS is able to reach out to more than 7,000 business and industry representatives so as to keep them posted on new incentive schemes, tax rebates and other tax news.  Over the years, the TFP and the Mandarin Dialogue Group have also helped IRAS foster a pro-enterprise and business-friendly tax environment. IRAS has also implemented many suggestions from them.

Together with other taxpayer feedback channels such as the biennial Taxpayer Survey that reaches out to various segments of taxpayers, and our dialogue sessions with key professional bodies and industry groups, the TFP and the Mandarin Dialogue form an important part of IRAS’ listening and learning strategies to understand and meet taxpayers’ needs and expectations in an ever changing economic and business environment.
