For GST return preparers

Before e-Filing of GST returns, you are required to authorise a staff or a third party (e.g. tax agent) to act for your organisation’s GST matters online. The authorisation is done via the e-Services Authorisation System (EASY) . There must be at least one person whose role is set as “Approver” who can both prepare and submit GST return(s) to IRAS online.

For step-by-step instructions on authorisation of staff or third party via EASY, you may download a printable copy of GST e-Filing User Guide (4.47MB). The guide also provides instructions on how an authorised third party can authorise its staff to act for its client.

FAQs

You can authorise any number of staff according to your organisation’s needs. A staff authorised as a “preparer” can prepare the GST return online only while a staff authorised as an “approver” can both prepare and submit GST returns to IRAS online. Therefore, your organisation needs to authorise at least 1 approver for GST matters.
