Importance of online verification
You should receive an authentic stamp certificate issued by IRAS upon paying your stamp duty. The stamp certificate should contain the following information:
- Document Reference Number issued by IRAS
- Stamp Certificate Reference Number issued by IRAS
- Document description
- Property address (where applicable)
- Amount of Stamp Duty paid
- Names of parties to the document
If your document is stamped by a third party (for e.g. by your lawyer or agent), and you have been given a stamp certificate, you can do an online check on the authenticity of the stamp certificate given.
