Importance of online verification

You should receive an authentic stamp certificate issued by IRAS upon paying your stamp duty. The stamp certificate should contain the following information:

  • Document Reference Number issued by IRAS
  • Stamp Certificate Reference Number issued by IRAS
  • Document description
  • Property address (where applicable)
  • Amount of Stamp Duty paid
  • Names of parties to the document

If your document is stamped by a third party (for e.g. by your lawyer or agent), and you have been given a stamp certificate, you can do an online check on the authenticity of the stamp certificate given.
