At IRAS, we believe in being responsible towards the society we live in. Our Community Involvement Committee organises fund-raising activities and outreach programmes for our people. More than 70% of our people are involved in Community Chest’s workplace-giving initiative, SHARE, and we have been supporting the President's Challenge annually. We partner community programmes such as the PEACE–Connect Neighbourhood Link, to provide guidance, support and encouragement to youths. We also inject the spirit of giving into our corporate events. Our people respond to and support all community work and fund-raising activities as they understand that their little gestures can go a long way in supporting the charities.
As much as our people believe in volunteering, we also believe in promoting volunteerism among the public. Through our annual nation-wide Volunteer e-Filing Service (VES) programme, we engage members of the public and provide training in e-Filing so they can in turn, provide e-Filing assistance to taxpayers. Volunteers for this programme include students, working professionals, stay-at-home-parents and retirerees. Through this service for the community, we have worked with 1,400 volunteers to help 49,000 taxpayers e-File their tax forms since 2003.
We are also proud to be housed in one of the greenest offices in the nation. We reduce energy, water and paper wastage and do our part in creating a cleaner and healthier living environment for all.
