Introduction to F1 cess

On 13 Aug 2007, the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) announced that a FORMULA ONE (F1) Cess will be imposed on all tourist hotels’ room revenue.

 The 2009 F1 Cess will be effective for the period from 24 Sep 2009 to 27 Sep 2009 (both dates inclusive) and will be at the following rates: 

• 30% of the total revenues from rooms and room packages for Trackside Tourist Hotels; or

• 20% of the total revenues from rooms and room packages for all other tourist hotels.

 IRAS is the agent for Singapore Tourism Board (STB) in the collection of F1 Cess.
