Sofian bin Osman (“Sofian”), 43-year-old director/de-facto director of four companies – Supreme App Pte Ltd, Elegance Systems Pte Ltd, Ideal Secretarial & Consultancy Services Pte Ltd and 3SI Technologies Pte Ltd – convicted of orchestrating fraudulent Productivity and Innovation Credit (PIC) claims with co-offender, Muhammad Iskandar bin Abd Hakim (“Iskandar”), who had earlier been sentenced in July 2022.

Sofian convicted of:
- 1 charge of assisting Ideal Secretariat & Consultancy Services Pte Ltd to fraudulently obtain PIC cash payouts and bonuses totalling $65,400 from IRAS by falsely representing that his company had met all the pre-requisites to be eligible for the payouts.
Court sentence:
- 8 months’ and 2 weeks’ imprisonment
- $261,600 in penalties

Sofian convicted of:
- 9 charges of conspiring with Iskandar and seven other claimants and assisting them to fraudulently obtain PIC cash payouts and bonuses totalling $430,600 from IRAS by submitting fraudulent claims. After assisting the claimants to file the fraudulent claims and upon IRAS’ approval of the claims, Sofian and the Iskandar would receive a share of the PIC cash payouts and bonuses from the claimants.

Court sentence:
- 20 months' imprisonment
- $1,520,800 in penalties
