Filing your taxes

  • If you are resident in Singapore, you can e-File your completed tax form from 1 Mar to 18 Apr every year. If you paper file, please submit your completed tax form by 15 Apr of each year.

    The filing deadline for the Year of Assessment 2020 has been extended to 31 May 2020 New.

  • Income tax is payable on income earned in the previous year. You should report your full income earned in Singapore in your tax return.
  • You can file your annual income tax return via:

    (i) e-Filing at myTax Portal using a computer or mobile device; or

    (ii) Paper Form

     

  •  You can re-file via myTax Portal if you need to make changes after e-Filing your original tax return. If you have paper filed your original tax return, please write in to IRAS detailing the changes.

  • Most taxpayers file their tax returns on time. Taxpayers stand to face enforcement actions for late or non-filing of Income Tax Returns.

  • IRAS audits tax returns and imposes penalties when there are errors, omissions and discrepancies. IRAS, in determining penalties, will take into consideration individual circumstances when there is no evidence of any intention to evade taxes.
  • You can check whether IRAS received your tax return by logging into myTax Portal.
