Singapore and Ecuador signed an Agreement for the Avoidance of Double Taxation (DTA) on 27 June 2013.  The signing took place in Singapore between Mr K Shanmugam, our Minister for Foreign Affairs and Mr Ricardo Patino Aroca, Ecuador’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility.

The DTA contains provisions to allocate taxing rights and minimize double taxation on cross border economic activities between Singapore and Ecuador, as well as provide for tax cooperation between both countries through exchange of information in accordance with the internationally agreed Standard. The DTA is expected to facilitate greater mutual trade and investments flows and foster greater economic cooperation between Singapore and Ecuador.

The full text of the DTA is available here (PDF, 171KB).  The DTA will enter into force after its ratification by both countries.
