The Virtual Seminar will aim to highlight the adjustments to the Additional Buyer's Stamp Duty rates that came into effect on 16 Dec 2021.

There is a transitional ABSD remission for residential properties acquired on or after 16 Dec 2021, such that the old ABSD rates will apply if:

  • The option to purchase (“OTP”) is granted on or before 15 Dec 2021;
  • The date of purchase (date you have executed this option) is any date from 16 Dec 2021 to 5 Jan 2022 (both dates inclusive) and within the option validity period; and
  • This option is not varied or extended on or after 16 Dec 2021.

The Virtual Seminar will also provide further instructions on how to apply for this transitional remission and will go through some common scenarios and FAQs on whether a transaction fulfils the conditions for the transitional remission.

This Virtual Seminar will be useful if you are a real estate agent or a member of public who is interested to know more about the changes.
