Filing and Paying Casino Tax

 

Casino operators are required to file a monthly casino tax return and pay the casino tax by the 15th of the following month.

In the casino tax return, they should submit details of the Gross Gaming Revenue and casino tax for both premium and other players.

For example, casino tax return and casino tax for Mar 2015 should be filed and paid to IRAS by 15 Apr 2015.

Late filing

Penalty of up to $1,000 per day, up to a total penalty of $10,000.

Late payment

5% penalty on the outstanding amount and additional penalty of 5% for each unpaid month, up to 50% of the outstanding casino tax.

Incorrect return / information

 

 

  1. Penalty equal to double the amount of underpaid casino tax; and 
  2. Fine of up to $25,000; or
  3. Imprisonment for a term of up to two years or all of the above (a, b & c)

Evasion

 

  1. Penalty upon conviction of four times of underpaid casino tax; and
  2. Fine of up to $50,000; or
  3. Imprisonment for a term of up to five years or all of the above (a, b & c).
