1. e-File GST F5/F8
You have to e-File your GST F5/F8 return immediately by logging into myTax Portal. Your estimated assessment will only be revised after IRAS has received your GST F5/F8 return. Please note that you are required to file a 'Nil' return even if there are no business activities during the period.
When your GST F5/F8 return is successfully submitted to IRAS, an acknowledgement page with payment advice will be generated. Please print the acknowledgement page for your reference. There will be no further payment advice issued to you.
Late Submission Penalty
If your GST F5/F8 return is not e-Filed within one month from the due date, a Late Submission Penalty of $200 will be charged for each completed month that the return is outstanding. The maximum late submission penalty for each return is $10,000.
2. Check Account Summary
Check your account summary in myTax Portal to ensure that the GST F5/F8 return is successfully submitted and assessment is revised.
If you do not see the revised assessment, please make sure that your approver has logged in to approve and submit the GST return.
Your GST account will show the amount of tax and penalties to be paid to IRAS.
3. Make payment
Please pay the amount shown in your GST account in myTax Portal immediately.
The acknowledgement page generated after e-Filing indicates if your payment will be deducted via GIRO or you have to pay via other modes.
For payment via other modes, please quote the payment slip number shown in the acknowledgement page.
An additional 2% penalty may be imposed and further recovery actions may be taken if the payment is not made on time.
