More than 323,000 companies, including 37,000 newly incorporated companies, need to file Corporate Income Tax by 30 November 2026. This year, companies can benefit from an enhanced suite of digital tools to simplify tax filing. Tax rebates and grants are also available to eligible companies. Here are three things to know for Year of Assessment (YA) 2026.

1. Find out what your company can benefit from

There are several support measures that you may benefit from for YA 2026, spanning tax rebates, cash grants and enhanced deductions. Here’s what to look out for:

For YA 2026, eligible companies will receive a 50% CIT Rebate of their corporate tax payable. Active companies that employed at least one local employee in 2025 will also receive a CIT Rebate Cash Grant of $2,000, with the total maximum benefits capped at $40,000 per company.

Eligible SMEs can also receive up to $2,500 under the SME Cash Grant 2026, with no application required.

Under the Enterprise Innovation Scheme (EIS), businesses can enjoy 400% tax deductions/allowances on qualifying expenditure for qualifying activities, subject to the relevant expenditure caps. Eligible businesses may also opt to convert up to $100,000 of total qualifying expenditure across all the qualifying activities for each YA into a non-taxable cash payout at a conversion rate of 20%, in lieu of tax deductions and/or allowances.

Did you know?
For YA 2027 and YA 2028, the list of qualifying activities will be expanded to include qualifying AI expenditures. Businesses may claim 400% tax deductions/allowances on up to $50,000 of qualifying AI expenditure per YA.

3. Keep these key dates in mind

  • 30 Nov 2026: CIT filing deadline
All companies must file their YA 2026 CIT Returns by 30 Nov 2026, unless they have been granted a waiver to file. This includes companies that did not carry on business or incurred a loss in financial year 2025.

  • Within 1 month from the date of your Notice of Assessment (NOA): Make Payment
Payment must be made within 1 month from the date of the NOA, even if you have filed a revision or objection. Pay via GIRO for hassle-free tax payments. Where applicable, enjoy the added benefits of instalment payment arrangements when you pay via GIRO for ECI filing.

  • Within 2 months from the date of your NOA: Revise or object, if needed
Need to revise your CIT return or object to your assessment? Use the “Revise/ Object to Assessment” digital service in myTax Portal to submit revisions or objections to your CIT assessment.
Looking ahead: As part of IRAS' ongoing digitalisation efforts, submissions of revisions and objections to CIT assessments via myTax Portal will be mandatory from 1 July 2027. Companies and tax agents are encouraged to get familiar with the digital service ahead of the transition.

A quick reminder

Directors are responsible for ensuring that their company's CIT Returns are filed accurately and on time, even if a tax agent has been engaged. Late or non-filing may result in penalties of up to $5,000.

Start early, explore the tools and resources available, and make your company's filing experience smoother and more efficient.
