Besides financial assistance, IRAS scholars receive

Application Criteria


  • Outstanding GCE 'A' level results, polytechnic results or equivalent (e.g. International Baccalaureate (IB), NUS High School Diploma)
  • Excellent university results (for mid-term scholarships)
  • Outstanding co-curricular records and leadership qualities

Merit Scholarship

Mid-Term Scholarship 

 Description

Under local scholarship terms. Supports you for a local or an overseas undergraduate course

Supports you for an overseas undergraduate course

For existing undergraduates at local or overseas tertiary institutions

 Universities

Overseas studies:

Tenable at approved overseas universities

Local studies:

Tenable at NTU, NUS, SMU

Tenable at approved overseas universities

Overseas studies:

Tenable at approved overseas universities

Local studies:

Tenable at NTU, NUS, SMU

Bond Period 

4 years with single or double Bachelor degree(s);

or

5 years with Bachelor and Master degrees

6 years (including those sponsored for direct Masters)

Overseas studies:

6 years (including those sponsored for direct Masters)

Local studies:

4 years with single or double Bachelor degree(s);

or

5 years with Bachelor and Master degrees

 Benefits

For overseas course:

Partial sponsorship (computed based on accommodation, maintenance allowance, tuition fees) for a similar local undergraduate programme.

Local studies:

Full sponsorship including maintenance allowance, tuition fees, pre-studies allowance, computer allowance, miscellaneous allowance and other compulsory fees

Full sponsorship including

return air passage, maintenance allowance, pre-studies allowance, computer allowance, miscellaneous allowance and other compulsory fees

After being awarded the IRAS mid-term scholarship, IRAS will pay the remaining expenses incurred for your undergraduate studies.

Upon graduation when you commence work in IRAS,  you will receive a lump-sum payment (for allowances, tuition, compulsory fees etc that you had paid prior to the IRAS mid-term scholarship award).
