Property tax rebate for all owner-occupied residential properties in 2026

Residential property owners will receive a one-off Property Tax (PT) rebate in 2026 - 15% for owner-occupied HDB flats and 10% (capped at $500) for owner-occupied private residential properties. This rebate helps to cushion PT increases for Singaporeans and will be automatically offset against any Property Tax payable.

Lower property tax bills for all owner-occupied HDB flats and over 90% of owner- occupied private residential properties

A one-off Property Tax rebate of 20% will be given to owner-occupied HDB flats, and 15%, capped at $1,000, for owner-occupied private properties in 2025. This rebate will automatically offset any Property Tax payable.

Retirees in owner-occupied properties get 24 months to pay Property Tax

The Government is committed to supporting retirees. As announced in Budget 2024, the Extended GIRO Scheme for Residential Property (Retirees) allows eligible property owners aged 65 and above this year to apply for a 24-month interest-free installment plan for their property tax payment. From calculating your property tax payable to the one-off rebate you may be entitled to, here are all the things you need to know about your 2024 property tax bill:

  • One-off property tax rebate of up to 100% for all owner-occupied residential properties;
  • All one- and two-room HDB owner-occupiers will continue to pay no property tax in 2024; and
  • For the rest of the owner occupiers in other HDB flat types and private properties, the rebate will be automatically offset against any property tax payable in 2024.
